Request an Interpreter
District Court obtains interpreters to assist non-English speaking and hearing-impaired individuals with Court matters, acknowledging that persons in Benton County whose native language is not English require special consideration to ensure meaningful and effective access to the Courts. District Court is committed to providing Equal Access to Justice for all persons in Benton County via access to interpreter services for all.
Scheduling an Interpreter
A request for an interpreter should be made as far in advance as practical for a hearing, but not less than 1 week prior to the scheduled hearing date.
When scheduling an interpreter for a trial request must be submitted no less than two weeks prior to the scheduled trial dates. This is to ensure the Court can locate available interpreters and schedule as needed. Depending on the language requested, longer times frames for scheduling/cancelling are necessary. All trials lasting ½ day or longer requires a minimum of two interpreters.
While the Court makes every effort to obtain in-person interpreters, when necessary, in some cases remote or telephonic interpretation may be used for Court hearings.
