Attention
Benton County District Court will no longer accept payments through NCourt for traffic, criminal and civil cases beginning April 24, 2026, due to the transition to a new payment system. Cash and checks will still be accepted. The new payment system will go into effect on May 4, 2026. Additional information and instructions will be provided as we get closer to the transition date.
Prosser Office Closure Notice
The Prosser District Court office will be closed from April 20, 2026 through May 8, 2026. Kennewick District Court office will remain open. Normal operations and hours will continue as usual.

About District Court
Benton County District Court is a court of limited jurisdiction and has concurrent jurisdiction with Superior Court in all misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor actions committed in violation of State and County statutes or County and Municipal ordinances. Benton County District Court handles all matters involving traffic, non-traffic, parking infractions, anti-harassment and small claims up to $5,000 (business) or $10,000 (individual). The District Court also has concurrent jurisdiction with the Superior Court over civil actions involving amounts up to $100,000.
