The Building Division staff, under the direction of Brad O'Brien, Building Manager, consists of Building Inspectors, Plans Examiner, Fire Marshal, Permit Technician and Office Support staff.
The Building Division is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the State Building Code Act, the Benton County Code and other regulations governing construction, alterations and use of new and existing buildings within unincorporated areas of Benton County. UPDATE REGARDING ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODES IN 2024
Effective September 3, 2024, Benton County Building Division will require 3rd party plan review and inspections for compliance with the
Energy Code for all New Commercial/Industrial, and substantial Tenant Improvement permits. For more information please call: 509-735-3500.
The adoption of the new 2021 IBC / IRC and energy codes will take effect March 15, 2024.
