Adult Felony Convictions
Adults that have been convicted of a crime in the Superior Court may have been assessed court costs and restitution.
When an order is entered, interest is assessed on a monthly basis. The Collection Deputy will be able to advise you of the current interest rate.
Defendants are required to report to the County Clerk's Office within 72 hours of their release from any correctional facility to discuss payment of the legal financial obligations assessed by the court.
Monthly payments are required and are set either by the court, Department of Corrections, or by the Clerk's Collection Deputy You will be assessed a collection fee per Washington Session Laws of 2003, Chapter 379. Payments must be made in cash, money order, or cashier check (personal checks will NOT be accepted). Payments may also be made with credit/debit cards at www.bentonclerk.com or by calling 1-855-796-5769. Please see the Pay Online page of this website for additional information. If payments are not made as required, a violation process will be initiated requiring you to report to the court on a specified date.
If you are using a credit/debit card for paying bail or a purged amount of money for release of a defendant currently in custody, it is the payer's responsibility to notify the Collections Department in the Clerk's Office (509-735-8388 ext. 8025) of your payment thru nCourt (see Pay Online page of this website). The Clerk's Office will not automatically apply any payments made thru nCourt as bail or a purged amount for release of a defendant without proper notification by the payer. If payment is made after business hours, weekends, or holidays, your payment will not be processed until the next business day.
