REMINDER:

SCHEDULING COURT INTERPRETERS

12.30.2025

The need for court interpreters has increased significantly.  Therefore, I would like to take this time to remind everyone of the necessity to request an interpreter, as far in advance as practical for a hearing, but not less than 5 business days prior to the scheduled date.  It is extremely difficult to schedule an interpreter, especially for languages other than Spanish, at the last minute.

All of Superior Court’s dockets have an in person Spanish Interpreter scheduled to cover those matters.  Because our Spanish Interpreters are in person, it is preferred to have litigants, requiring a Spanish Interpreter, also in person to ensure efficiency in the translation between litigant, interpreter and court.

Interpreters needed for trial must be made when the trial is called ready at the Trial Readiness/Trial Priority Docket.

Complete Information on Interpreters and how to schedule can be found on our website at:  Request an Interpreter / Solicitar una Intérprete - Benton County WA

Superior Court has created an email specifically for Requests for Interpreters for Superior Court Adult matters.  Please email ALL interpreter requests to SCRequests@co.benton.wa.us.  Several people in Court Admin are on this email, so a request will be seen promptly.

Moving forward, if an interpreter is not scheduled in advance, your court hearing/trial will be continued.
