Technology in the Courtrooms

Benton County:

Benton County Superior Courtrooms (A, B, C, D, E, F)

All six courtrooms offer video/digital display technology.  This allows the attorneys/self-represented litigants to display evidence using Window-based computers or tablets.  A document camera is also provided for the display of paper evidence.

Video/Document Display Equipment in the Courtroom

Courtrooms B and E are equipped with three 75” screens (viewable to the judicial officer, gallery, counsel table, witnesses, and jury).  Courtrooms A, C, D, and F are equipped with two 75” screens (viewable to the judicial officer, gallery, counsel table, witnesses, and jury).  Additionally, there are desktop screens on each counsel table, the podium, the bench, and the witness stand.

Left and right counsel tables and the podium have an HDMI output.  The podium has a document camera (ELMO) to display paper evidence.  You can also use the document camera as an easel by placing a blank page under the camera and then by drawing on that page.  This can later be submitted as evidence.

The sound on your computer must be unmuted in order to project sound from the videos.  The Judicial Officer will determine what and where to publish the digital evidence.

Please note – Apple-branded devices require a plug type USB C to HDMI adapter.  Superior Court does not provide this adapter.  You must bring one with you. 

Audio Equipment in the Courtroom

Each courtroom is equipped with a microphone at the Judge's bench, witness stand, each attorney table, the clerk’s desk, and the podium. 

Several mics hang from the ceiling and are active during proceedings.  The Judicial Assistant will turn on the mics above the jury during Voir Dire.  Finally, there is a handheld microphone and multiple lapel microphones in each courtroom that should be used by counsel during trial.
