Dress Code

Every litigant and attorney appearing in Superior Court is expected to dress in a manner that shows respect for the court.  Accordingly, the following are not allowed:

  • Shorts or cut-off pants
  • Tank tops
  • Revealing tops
  • Torn and soiled clothing
  • Flip flops
  • Hats
  • Sunglasses

Attorneys must dress in business attire:  Men are expected to wear jackets and ties, with shirts buttoned to the top and ties cinched.  Women may wear suitable business attire, including dresses, skirts or pants. 

Electronic Devices

Electronic devices must be muted or turned off.  No unauthorized photography, videography or audio recordings are allowed.  No calls will be placed or received while in a courtroom.  No text messaging is allowed in the courtroom. Devices used in violation of this policy will be confiscated.
