- Generates a positive image by communicating detailed and accurate information with internal/external customers in a timely and efficient manner and conducts such business in a professional manner.
- Conducts interviews, background investigations, evaluations, and provides written and/or oral reports of treatment and alternative sentencing recommendations to the court.
- Obtains National Crime Information Center (NCIC) arrest and convictions records, abstract of driving records, historical data including prior hospitalizations and incarcerations for the baseline period prior to entering the program.
- Establishes contracts and agreements with clients regarding program expectations and consequences.
- Provides supervision of clients in Adult Drug Court programs including monitoring participation in and compliance with program requirements. Such supervision may include home and site visits, calls, and drug urinalysis testing.
- Performs drug and alcohol assessments for in custody participants to facilitate residential treatment placement. Works closely with treatment agencies to monitor client’s treatment progress and ensures compliance reports are being submitted to the court. Enters urinalysis and drug court criminology in statewide system.
- Assists participants in crisis situations.
- Participates in case staffing, prepares weekly court reports, and attends team meetings, and other departmental meetings, when scheduled.
- Investigates and seeks resolutions to a variety of program and client needs; researches available resources and devises solutions to resource shortages.
- Coordinates, calculates, and monitors community service hours to be worked to satisfy program requirements.
- Facilitates and participates in recreational and other activities designed to provide healthy alternatives to clients assigned to Adult Drug Court Program.
- Works closely with treatment agencies to monitor client’s treatment progress and ensures compliance reports are being submitted to the court.
- Assists selected individuals for placement into substance abuse and mental health treatment programs and maintains a current referral resource file of state-approved treatment agencies.
- Maintains and fosters working relationships with other justice system agencies, other county departments, the general public, and attorneys who interface the court.
- Maintains records and files of Adult Drug Court referrals and cases placed on supervision.
- Enters, scans, updates, and maintains information in spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
- Maintains electronic filing, paper filing, and record systems to provide easy access to records and information; provides retention of records as required by Office and County policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
