About the Program
In September 2007, Benton County Commissioners established the Historical Preservation Fund to deposit and expend funds related to Historic Preservation, with funds received from a document recording fee, per RCW 36.22.170.
Benton County has established the Historic Preservation Grants (HPG) Program to promote historic preservation or historic programs within the borders of Benton County to increase knowledge and service to residents, and better preserve, exhibit, and interpret historic items.
In furtherance of the mission of the Historic Preservation Grant Program, Benton County is requesting proposals from interested entities to promote historic preservation or programs in Benton County. Recipients of funding from this grant must be government entities or IRS-recognized non-profit 501(c)(3) entities and must be physically located in Benton County and provide services to Benton County residents.
