Job Foundation is an opportunity for Transition Students to be able to connect with Employment Specialists earlier (ages 19 to 20 years old). They will work with the student to identify their work readiness strengths, then create a compressive report that is shared with the student's team. This program serves as a foundation for School to Work.

For more information, go to the Job Foundation page.

The School-to-Work (S2W) program supports students with developmental disabilities in their third or fourth year of transition services by connecting them to paying jobs and long-term adult services before they exit school. Employment providers, the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and schools work together to develop a person-centered employment plan and support paid job placement. The goal is to strengthen partnerships and increase the number of students who exit school with a job or post-secondary opportunity.

For more information, go to the [School to Work] page.

The 2026 Benton Franklin Transition Fair was a huge success with over 40 providers coming together to help families understand and prepare for transition from school to a meaningful adult life. There were representatives from employment, schools, day programs, adult education, transportation, DDA, and much, much more!  Families who attended went home with the information needed to plan a pathway forward for their students.Benton Franklin Transition Fair
