The DDCS Job Foundation program helps eligible students ages 19–20 begin early employment planning and connect to adult services. Community-based employment providers partner with schools to assess students’ skills, support needs, and employment interests, building on vocational and life skills already being developed. The goal is to create a clear report that will guide future employment planning and service delivery.
The School-to-Work (S2W) program supports students with developmental disabilities in their third or fourth year of transition services by connecting them to jobs and long-term adult services before they exit school. Employment providers, DVR, DDA, and schools work together to develop a person-centered employment plan and support paid job placement. The goal is to strengthen partnerships and increase the number of students who exit school with a job or post-secondary opportunity.
